Meridian Creek Middle School was constructed on a newly designated 15 acre site within the city limits, positioned just south of a forthcoming Frog Pond housing development. The entire plot is designed to channel its drainage to a retention pond, which hosts an impressive array of over 14,000 plants. These plants, bolstered by an 18-inch soil media layer, function as a natural filtration system, directing water flow directly into a wetland area situated on the western edge of the site.
The centerpiece of the project is the stunning 102,000 square foot building, characterized by its innovative use of wood timbers and glulam beams throughout its construction. The two-story classroom wing has a modern and visually captivating library serving as its focal point. In addition to standard features such as new parking lots, concrete sidewalks, and custom benches, the project also boasts high-quality amenities including playground equipment. It includes a state-of-the-art track and field facility tailored to high school-grade standards, complete with the latest equipment and features, enhancing the school’s athletic offerings and community engagement.
